· La
Sagrera
La sagrera (the holy area around the church where wine and
silos for the cereals were stored) takes in the church, the square,
the Don Carles' Tower and the Santa Llúcia's Chapel, with
pretty houses from the 17th and 18th centuries with wonderful stone
lintels.
· Sant Genís' Parish Church
This church is a good example of neoclassical architecture, which began to be
built in 1755. The church shows a wide façade, a Romanesque belfry, which
was part of temple consecrated in 1076 with a finish superimposed in 1950, and
the "deep chapel", as people call it, which was built in 1860 and restored
in the last few years.
· Santa
Llúcia's Chapel
Pretty and modest construction that has contributed to the creation of a centre
of a great personality. It is a Renaissance chapel with Gothic touches built
around the middle of the 16th century.
· Don
Carles' Tower
It was raised up around the middle of the 16th century. It has a square section
and it was built in stone. The first floor was used as a prison. The tower and
some adjacent walls are the only remains of a project, which purpose was to surround
the entire village with strong walls.
· Taradell
Castle
It is situated on a strategic and small rock formation. You can see the remains
of the walls and the floor of the chamber that was used as a chapel. |
