Municipality
and village with a population of about 850 inhabitants on the north
face of the Massif of Montseny that stretches down to the northern
slopes of the Matagalls' Peak.
Its outskirts have a great beauty because of their leafy forests and the abundance
of water, which have made Viladrau a traditional place of tourism and holiday.
The village has several residences of Art Nouveau style, some hotels and some
hostels around the old centre of the village.
We
have to stand out the Romanesque Sant Martí's Church, the
Erola's Shrine and the masia (traditional Catalan farm building)
called La Sala, which was the house of Joan Sala, a famous bandit
so called Serrallonga.
