Village
and municipality situated in the southern area of La Plana de Vic
(the Vic's Plain), in the meeting point of the Massif of Montseny
and the area called Les Guilleries.
The whole municipality of Taradell reaches a varied territory between a mountainous
area and a plain, with its centre (the village of Taradell) put up in the confluence
of both of them.
Taradell
gives the chance to go through its municipal district on the basis
of a dense web of paths and roads, most of them appropriate for
walking round or riding on mountain bike.
The village has an old sector with stone houses from the 16th to 18th century
around the Santa Llúcia's Chapel (16th century). The remains of the
castle and the Don Carles' Tower of Gothic style are evidences of the historical
relevance of the village, which often suffered the bandits' actions.
