Municipality situated in the north of the Comarca (administrative area corresponding to the English county) of Vallès Oriental, next to the Comarca of Osona.

Nature is the protagonist of this municipality that is placed between the Crags of Bertí and the Massif of Montseny, surrounded by the River Congost and the Streams of Avencó and Martinet.

The hikers of long routes have a point of reference in Aiguafreda. The GR-2 route (Aiguafreda-La Jonquera) departs from this spot and the GR-5 route (Canet de Mar-Sitges) passes by.
