The
Consortium of Tourism Portes del Montseny, Alt Congost and La Plana
de Vic is already a fact and a reality. Since a long time, La Plana
de Vic, with the support of the Mancomunitat, the functional and
administrative association of the regional councils of Barcelona,
began to develop the tourism of the region and to promote it.
Later
on, after several meetings between town councils and tourist businessmen, the
Consortium, that we are presenting you, was constituted on 14th March 2001.
It is formed by 12 town councils: |

the Associació d'Empresaris Turístics (the
Association of Tourist Businessmen) that have come together on this
common project to promote the tourism in this area, and to involve
the tourist services for the purpose of improving their quality for
their own benefit.
This Consortium is supported by Diputació de Barcelona (Delegació de
Turisme), The Tourist Promotion Office of the Regional Council of Barcelona.
Both institutions are taking into term different actions to promote and to encourage
the tourism of the region: tourist catalogue, product catalogue, tourist guidebook
of this particular area so called Portes del Montseny (the Massif of Montseny's
Doors), informative panels... and this web page that you have in front.
